Iceberg Breaks Away From Antarctica

26.7.17

An enormous iceberg has broken away from Antarctica and scientist have been watching the ice break away. The iceberg was estimated to cover 6000 sq km of an area. The research station that was close by, now has to move away.

The iceberg weighs about a trillion tonnes! Scientist have been watching this for 10 years and surprisingly broke away  between Monday and Wednesday. It is now important to watch where it goes because it can get in the way of ships’ routes but it depends where it goes.
