Definition: Matariki is made of seven stars which they are sisters. Matariki is the Maori name and is also known as Pleiades. Matariki comes usually comes around mid winter. Matariki means Eyes Of God.

Example: As I try to stay up for Matariki, I can feel a cold breeze flowing through the dark night. As it got darker and darker, I could see the stars way up in the sky sparkling. I was amazed and excited to see this and it was like a dream come true!
