The Beatles Arrive In NZ
On the 21st of June 1964 the Beatles arrived in NZ. They performed in U.S.A, Hong Kong, Europe, and Australia before arriving in NZ. They arrived at Wellington Airport, where police struggled to keep the crowds behind wire fences.
On June the 22nd at the Wellington Town Hall the Beatles had their first concert and fans went wild, screaming and jumping on seats which caused a lot of damage. The same thing happened when they held concerts in Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin. The Beatles made rock 'n' roll and pop music popular around the world.
