Pink Star Diamond Sets World Record

A rare diamond has been sold in Hong Kong for 101 million New Zealand dollars. The diamond is called the Pink Star and the price that it was sold for has set a new record. It was after 5 minutes of bidding that it got brought. It was found at an African mine in 1999 by De Beers. In Hong Kong it was sold for 71 million dollars. In its class, it is the largest polished diamond to go under the hammer.
