Easter is a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and Holy week is the week before Easter. Easter eggs represent new life and we celebrate it. The first ever Easter bunny legend was recorded in the 1500s. Every year there are over 90 million chocolate Easter bunnies made. The Christian church year is an entire season of Easter. Easter is the oldest festival and most important festival of the Christian church and Good Friday is also called Holy Friday. It is traditional to eat hot cross buns on Good Friday. The pastry cross on the hot cross buns symbolise and remind Christians of the cross Jesus was killed on. On Easter our family comes down and celebrates. We also have an Easter hunt every year because the Easter bunny leaves us one. We walk around with a basket to collect the eggs and then we divide it up so everyone gets the same amount of chocolate eggs. The Easter bunny also comes to our house.
