1.3.17 YouTube have reported that they will get rid of the 30 second ads as you can’t skip some of them after watching 5 seconds of it. Youtubers make money off ads and the views they get on each video. Now some people click off the video they are watching because they don’t to watch the ads that take 30 seconds.

28.2.17 My Weekly News: New Zealand or Zealandia? It turns out that New Zealand a Continent and the rest of the country has sunken into the sea. Scientists have published a paper in America about their research. I am not sure when this happened or how it happened or why it happened. I think that if Zealandia didn’t sink, it would be a popular place and loads of places to visit. I found this information on Kiwi Kids News. I wonder what the population would be if Zealandia didn’t sink.

28.2.17 In Arizona there is a woman who has kept a Valentine’s cookie since 1930 which was 85 years ago! The heart shaped cookie is in a jewelry box and has been passed down from her mother. Money wasn’t often used as people did not have much of it, so people use to bake. The name of her mother's boyfriend is Bus which is written on cookie with icing.

23.2.17 Astronomers have discovered 60 planets in ‘our immediate solar neighborhood’. They have got evidence that they have possibly found another 54 planets on top of that! That means that they have found 114 planets. A planet named Gliese has a rocky surface and is the fourth nearest star system to the sun, scientist are interested in this planet.

22.2.17 In Greece there has been bomb found from World War Two. The bomb is 225kg and can be defused, 70,000 people have evacuated. The bomb found in Greece is one of the largest wartime to be found. The bomb was found during roadworks and they can not tell if it is German or an ally.

22.2.17 In Siberia there is a frozen lake and someone has made a library using some ice. They have called it Ice Library Of Wonders. The creators have asked people for their dreams and wishes. The hopes and dreams that some people had were falling in love, climbing Mount Everest, and winning the lottery!

1. The first country I would like to visit is England. I want to go there to have a look at The Buckingham Palace and go over The London Bridge. 2. The second country I want to visit is America because I want to visit Las Vegas. I want to go there because I want try Chick-Fil-A and stay in one of their hotels. 3. The third country is America because I want to visit New York. I want to go there because I want to see the Statue Of Liberty and The Empire State Building!

My word for this year is Success. I chose this word so it will make me reach success in everything. It will motivate me in everything I do and will help me achieve my goals. It will help me drive until I complete my task. If something get hard for me I will keep going until I succeed.  

I have chosen to put myself on Tupu as I don't consistently make the right choices. I want to work really hard so I can move up to Tuakana. As a Tupu learner, I am able to work in different spaces and go out for huff n puff.  We also have our screens out so the teaches can see what we are doing and we are able to work independently or collaboratively.

I have chosen Growth Mindset as my learning driver. It can help us by having a positive attitude. It gives you the power to drive and have resilience. It motivates you to keep learning and to not have a fixed mindset. Having a growth mindset makes us work harder and achieve our goals! 

Waitangi day is where people celebrate about the peace between the British and Maori. The British and Maori signed a treaty on the 6th of February, 1840. It was signed in the Bay Of Islands and we celebrate it every year. There were over 500 people who signed the treaty. Waitangi day is a public holiday in New Zealand.

I have taken a test for my learning and I have found out that I am Interpersonal.  My strengths are Linguistic, Logical-Mathematical, and Interpersonal. My weaknesses are Musical, Naturalistic, and Intrapersonal. Interpersonal means that you like working with other people The Multiple Intelligences test is to see what your learning strengths and weaknesses are.
